What I didn't know was that Google had shutdown my blog due to a security issue on the Gmail account linked to the blog, which is the reason why some of you got worried. Apparently the security issue was that gmail found suspicious my travelling to Italy and then to Greece so when I attempted to login from my iPad in Greece they locked me out. In these cases Gmail will send an email with a code to the alternate account that you have indicated as a backup or a text to the phone number that they have on file so you can retrieve it and login again but I didn't bother to solve the issue immediately because with no blog activity during my vacation, I only receive retailer offers on this account and I thought that could wait. But again, I didn't know that the blog was down. Thanks to Gigi for alerting me and spreading the news that I was alive and kicking on the JCA!
Anyway, I am here now and I will resume blogging on a regular basis. Athens was really wonderful and you will get to see some pictures soon. Today I only want to post a OOTD to get me back in the swing of blogging. This past week I literally threw on whatever I found that was 1) easily accessible (aka, not in a suitcase) and 2) not dirty or too wrinkled without thinking too much about my look but today I made an effort to make my outfit a little bit more stylish since Fashion week is in full swing and yesterday I had the feeling while I was walking down Madison that I was the only one NOT looking like a fashion editor.
Well, you have probably heard it was 97 degrees yesterday here so I think most of those stylish ladies would have happily traded their high heels for a pair of Havaianas and a portable fan as everybody was on the verge of melting but today it was more bearable so as I said I decided to give it a try. Luckily for me the JCrew peplum top was perfectly clean (in fact it had still the tag on) and looked very fresh with my Tory Burch cropped twill pants:

The bag is not new, even if you haven't seen it on the blog yet. It is a navy "colorblocked" big Brompton that I bought more than a year ago at the sample sale in NYC. I have no idea why I never wore it before (probably laziness as I don't like to change bags very often) but when I got back from Paris (where I was hit by Handbag Decision Paralysis and ended up not getting any bag) I decided that it was going to be my bag for Fall and beyond as it is so gorgeous and I really don't need anything more. In fact navy blue is going to be my color for Fall.
I have a few "Fall inspiration" posts in mind, I will be back soon. In the meanwhile, that you for reading!
P.S.
As you may have noticed I am experimenting with the template as I would like to give the blog a makeover. This is not the definitive layout, in fact it may change every day until I am set on something I really like. By the way the image background is supposed to be Paris but the Eiffel Tower is covered by the text box...

Hi, Ema. I'm so glad all is well, and that your trip was good. Welcome back! Cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It still seems amazing to me that there are people like you who were "waiting" for me here!
DeleteYay, you're back! Good to see a new blog post. Love the peplum top and that bag is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you shopalot. I saw your comment on the JCA among others, thank you so much!
DeleteEma, so glad you are back!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blog. Although I don't really know you, I feel like I know you -- you know? -- so it was like losing a friend.
I still miss, for example, Gingersnap of Gingersnap's Daily Fashion Post and Dr. BabyDramaMama because I felt the same way about them.
Plus I love seeing your clothes! You have the wardrobe I would like to have.
Your hair looks a little different although it might simply be the way that it is pulled back in the photos. But did you get a new haircut?
Hi Rip-A-Roo, yes I know what you mean. No new haircut, they are just pulled in a ponytail.
DeleteWelcome back Ema! I can't wait to hear about your trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you Muffy!
DeleteWelcome back, Ema! Hope you had a wonderful vacation and I am really looking forward to your travel photos and fall inspiration posts!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Louise! I really liked your last post, you seem to be in a good place right now.
DeleteWelcome back! I had said I would be willing to go to Italy and check on you, as that is the kind of kind person I am! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well! You look very euro-chic - so much swankier than some of the fashionistas I saw outside of the shows! Looking forward to the pics!
Ema welcome back! I hope you had a great vacation... I heard about the shutting down of your blog on JCA, but luckily Gigi had already resolved that all was well, thank goodness for Gigi!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read about your trip and your Handbag Decision Paralysis!
Welcome back! You look great! Can't wait to hear about your trip.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Ema!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you are back and all is well. I thought for a minute that there had been an unfortunate incident during the designer street sale in Italy. I had imagined all sorts of horrible things like you being trampled by the woman seeking revenge for last summer's Prada dress that got away:)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Back Ema!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your Blog worries straightened out.
You look lovely, love the bag! Can't wait to hear about your vacation!
Oh, very cool. Love the white peplum (isn't it nice to find a brand new clean item to wear like that :) )
ReplyDeleteI'm in NY next week- I hope it's just a nice warm-ish temperate September, and not crazy hot!
ema, welcome back, so glad you enjoyed your summer and really looking forward to hearing about your travels!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. Great outfit. You look cool and fresh. I love navy for the fall-or actually all year round- too. It is a nice change from the typical browns and reds. Isn't it nice to have the answer to a fashion question sitting in your closet already?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Ema! And just like, I had to get the Peplum top too (I spent all morning calling all the stores, and finally located the last XXS)! You make everything look amazing :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you and your daughter had a fabulous time in Athens. Welcome home to NYC! I look forward to reading about your adventures and your great style.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're back! Love your blog and was worried you're gone for good.
ReplyDeleteI missed your blog too, nice to see you back
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Ema! I hope you had a good trip!
