OOTD: White and Lilac

I clearly don't abide to the rule "no white after Labor Day". Who said that? Besides the fact that I love white on a sunny day, I couldn't wait to wear my new suckered gingham perfect shirt in bright lilac that I found yesterday in store. I put it several times in my cart during the last two % off FS promo but never pulled the trigger as I was unsure of sizing. In store is still 39.99 but at least there is no final sale and the 0 fits perfectly. If I tried it at the beginning of the season I would have happily paid full price for it:

It's frisky this morning outside, so I am wearing it with my cashmere croquet cardigan from last year:

Not to be rethorical but I can't finish this a post without a tought to the victims of 9/11 the and their families (even if I'm wearing white and not black).

Enjoy the weekend!

  1. I still struggle with the "no white after Labor Day" rule, but I'm getting over. I love your outfit. My prayers go out to the people who lost loved ones and friends on that tragic day.

Well we don't have that rule, so all systems go from me on this look.

  3. I am wearing white shoes, so who am I to judge? Granted, they are Privo walking shoes, but still... the gingham shirt is a great colour!

  4. I'm thinking you mean brisk, not frisky. That's a whole nother meaning :-). We wear white after Labor Day here in California. No rules about it at all. The top is beautiful on you. I like the color for your skin.

  6. Patina, thanks for stopping by.

Tabitha, that's because you don't have Labor Day in september, probably.

Rose, I think that the rule doesn't apply to shoes anyway.

Gigi, I meant a little bit chilly, which in French is "frisquet" ;-). I think I would have caught it had I reviewed what I wrote. A typical exemple of linguistic confusion ;-).

DaniBP, yes the cardigan is one my favorite ever (very substantial) and I typically wear at this time of the year.
