I wore this outfit last Sunday. The reason why I want to blog about it (even if it's a very casual outfit) is because 1) I wore my Chalet boots for the first time and I want to report back in case you are considering them and 2) the sweater is a recent purchase that you haven't seen yet and it just came out in the new rollout on the website (the pants are the toothpick cords from last year. You can probably tell that I gained some weight and they "just" fit this year):

The sweater is the new Shadow-flecked turtleneck in heather ebony (it looks like dark charcoal). I immediately loved the look of this sweater when I saw it the first time in a store but $88 for a mix of wool/nylon/alpaca/spandex was a little bit steep, so I waited and got it with the 25% off. It is very cozy but not for sensitive skins: it is a little bit scratchy and definitively itchy, so the next time I will wear it with a long-sleeved tee.
These are the fitting room pics where the light was better and you can see the "speckles". Personally I like the lived-in look:

I had tried the heather graphite colorway on an other occasion. This color was beautiful too, but I have an old Gap one that looks exactly the same, so I went with the darker one:

As for the Chalet boots, I really recommend them. They are TTS (I usually wear a 7 and I got a 7 in these) and they are soooo cozy and comfortable. The shearling kept my feet warm all day long (especially on Saturday when it was freezing outside) and they are very easy to walk in. They footbed is slimmer than in the UGGs which is a plus because your foot won't slip forward when walking (also the look is more that of boots than a pair of slippers). I am not sure if they are worth $198 but with the current promo they are definitively a good buy. I can't comment on the taller ones as I never tried them on.
Do you own the Chalet boots or are you a UGGs type of girl? Have a nice day you all!
love the chalet boots and the sweater on you! looks very "swiss chalet".
ReplyDeletei usually wear a boot with at least a small heel because i am short.
i just purchased the chalet turtleneck online, which seems to be the same material as yours.
have you seen it IRL?
is it TTS? any opinion?
TIA
No UGGs for this gal! Besides, it's never cold enough here for them. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe turlenecks look very cute and cozy!
Adorable, as always, Ema! I have a very casual lifestyle (and am tailored by preference and nature too), so this kind of cutie patootie outfit really appeals to me!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge UGGs fan (just posted an IRL pic of myself yesterday wearing a pair, as a matter of fact), but those Chalet boots look yummy too!
There's so much snow here so it's Uggs or frozen toes.
ReplyDeleteI love the chalet boots, I think I'll go for them next year.
Love the outfit. I didn't really notice that sweater online, but it is so cute on you. Are you wearing an xs? Would you say it runs tts?
ReplyDeleteLovely, cozy outfits Ema! I'm a huge fan of the Chalet boots too. I have a pair from last season and they are SO comfortable. Glad to see JC brought them back again.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I noticed here, is how SUPER CUTE you look in these boots!!! HA! Love them:) I am an Uggs girl, in fact, could use another pair this year!! I noticed that sweater online, and thought it was pretty. Did you try on anything else from the new arrivals? Love this outfit!!
ReplyDeleteina, I haven't seen the chalet turtleneck but I believe that the waive is much looser (like mohair) and it hasn't spandex in it.
ReplyDeleteRose, those are the (few) joys of living in colder climates. You get to wear snow boots ;-)
JCAUNCMom, thanks. I am wearing it today again (with grey tootpicks).
Tabitha, I would love some snow around here. Keep warm!
Kris, yes, I am wearing a XS. I also tried a S because my store was out of my size in the charcoal color and it was less fitted but not too big. Runs really TTS IMO.
A Bigger Closet, thanks. Yes, I missed on the Chalet last year and didn't want to miss on them again this year, so I ordered them with the Mickey card.
mrs.anketell, thanks! No, I haven't tried anything else from the new rollout yet. I will update you all if I do but at this point I am a little bit shopped out.
I love the chalet boots. I bought both the gray and tan last year and wore them a ton. The only negative: they have virtually no support and aren't comfortable for walking long distances.
ReplyDeleteThose sweaters look nice 'n cozy! I'm not an Ugg girl but I have admired the tall chalet shearling boots. I took a look real quick after reading your post & the tall chalet's are all gone except size 10. Love my cropped toothpicks too. I bought two pairs of some of the colors from last year because I wore them so much. Thanks for the sweater previews! You always look great!
