I loved the combination of neutrals and silver and also the combination of fabric, leather (well, faux-leather) and suede. By the way, isn't it great that gladiators are still in fashion this season? I hope that they make it to the "classic" status.
I also liked that they are not completely flat but have a little wedge:
And I loved the Gap price: $37 (I had a 20% off coupon, so I paid $31). When I buy a pair of everyday shoes that I really like, I tend to wear them, well, everyday and distroy them pretty quickly. So the cheaper, the better. I only really, really hope that they won't hurt my feet, but for the price I was ready to take the risk.
When I bought them I had in mind to wear them with a couple of JCrew shorts in particular. The first are the "giraffe print" ones that I was lucky enough to snap up on sale for $39.99. Please don't comment on the general outfit as I'm wearing the T-shirt I had just slept in lol (it happens to be a neutral beige that goes with both shorts but I would never wear it outside). I just wanted to show the shoes with the shorts as normally sandals with ankle straps tend to cut my not-dickinson-esque legs. Well, apparently not these sandals:
The second pair is from last year (again, how was this print called?):
Do you buy shoes at the Gap? What do you think of this particular pair? Do you wear gladiators?
Love the sandals, they look great! And love your giraffe shorts, too - so cute!!
ReplyDeleteI've never purchased shoes from the GAP. However, I have a pair of ballet flats from Old Navy and they have impressed me so far. I also keep the price point low on some shoes, esp sandals. The gladiators are cute and I agree w/you in hoping they reach classic status.
ReplyDeletehey
ReplyDeletethe style of the second pair of shorts is called "mariposa"
: )

I adore gladiators. Have you checked Intermix? They had some amazing Mystique ones I picked up with a 50% off coupon (my sister works there). http://www.intermixonline.com/product/accessories/shoes/flat+suede+gladiator+sandals.do?sortby=ourPicks
ReplyDeleteI hope they become a classic too!
Dominique, good to know that you're in NYC, we can exchange tips. I haven't been to Intermix in a long time (the last time I went there was during the holidays). I prefer to stay away because I don't want to fall in love with clothes that are too expensive (that's why I love Jcrew, because I can obsess about clothes that I can actually afford). The last time I've tried the Stella McCartney sailboat print dress and almost bought it at $995!!! I used to go to the sample sale (when I was a childless working girl) but now it's too much of a madness for me.
ReplyDeleteRe. the gladiators, I'm eyeing a very chic Miu Miu pair (that I saw at Chuckles), I hope that I will find them at 50% or 60% off!
