When we celebrated Mother's Day at school, the kids had prepared a gift for us: a handprint in clay that they had painted and decorated, accompanied by a poem. The poem must be a teacher favorite so you probably know it already if you have apreschooler (or had one), but I was moved to tears and I want to share it with those of you who have little ones.
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But every day I'm growing
I will be grown up someday
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.
So here's a final handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.
I will treasure it forever...
Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day!
I have read that poem, but it is so sweet, thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteHow true it is that they grow up so fast.
Have a Happy Day! :)
I love seeing these cute homemade gifts-they are the best.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!
My kids are grown now, but I was a faithful classroom volunteer all through their early school years. I treasure those memories now and I'm so glad I made the time to do it. Happy Mom's Day.
ReplyDeletePrecious! Happy Mother's Day!
