Last week I stopped by the Lilly Pulitzer store on Madison Avenue (where I rarely go even if it is just on the other side of the street from the JCrew Collection store) because something in the window caught my eye and I must admit that I was smitten by many of the accessories that were on display. I am not a "Lilly" girl (in fact I don't own anything by Lilly Pulitzer) and even if I like to browse their resort clothes I find them to be too expensive; but the accessories are more affordable and there are many that would make a great Valentine's Day gift, so I thought that I would share, especially since February is not only the month when we celebrate love but also the month that many choose for a warm weather vacation.
My top pick is this adorable straw clutch with critter ornament. The size is perfect and I love that it comes with a chain strap to carry it around. The navy, with the fish, is my favorite and is on my wishlist:

If you like matchy-matchy, you could pair it with the necklace:

and even the sandals:

If you have missed the JCrew rattan clutch in 2009, this golden clutch is a good, even if more expensive, alternative:

The Murfee wrap will keep you warm during those romantic evening chandel-lit dinners on the beach. I especially love this color combination:

But even if you are not going anywhere, Lilly has something for you to celebrate. What is more appropriate for Valentine's Day than this "key to your heart" necklace?:

Even if according to Pam from "The Office" (I am watching Season 6 on DVD and I am loving it) a woman doesn't buy heart-shaped jewelry for herself, I would totally buy this one, especially since it is very affordable (but a warning: I saw it IRL and it is very shiny).
And if you are eyeing a more expensive item, like a dress, don't miss the Valentine's Day promotion valid through tomorrow 2/14. If you spend $250 or more, this hand-printed jewelry roll free with your purchase:
You can also order any of these items through the www.splashofpink.com signature store and receive 10% off your order with code THX01, valid through 2/21 (but apparently they are not running the jewelry roll promo).
Do you like any of these picks? Do you shop at lLilly Pulitzer?
Happy shopping and Happy Valentine's Day!
Hi Ema,
ReplyDeleteAlthough I really love Lily Pulitzer, I have a question for you about JCrew sizing. I have noticed that with the addition of XXS the other sizes seem to have gotten bigger; i.e. I used to wear a size 4 from JCrew but now find I fit into size 2 or even 0s. Have you found the same thing? I don't have access to a store to try on different sizes and usually just order online. Because we seem to be the same size, I was wondering if you have found the same thing. Any insight would be appreciated!
Ema I love your lilly picks and I too want that navy rattan clutch!
ReplyDeleteThe rattan clutch with the little strap is very like the one from JCrew which has been so coveted. I own it and love it.
I don't shop at Lilliy but I may look for a store in Florida just to find that navy bag.
Happy Valentines Day.
janine, it is hard to tell, it really depends on the item. I usually size down in tanks because they are low cut but otherwise I am a real xs and a real 0 in pants (I bought 00 only in the twill minnies and the curator pants). If you have specific items in mind let me know, I will try to help with sizing. TIA!
ReplyDeleteDaniBP, it shouldn't be difficult to find a Lilly store in Florida, and I think you are going to love that clutch. Glad that you caught my post before leaving!
Thanks, Ema! That is really helpful information, and I just might take you up on that offer!
ReplyDeleteHappy shopping!
