It's a dream sweater (dream like the blend) that is a pullover but it has an opening in the front like a double-breasted cardigan. It comes in the beautiful heather cobblestone, which is maybe the best color this season so far (I know, for us who love muggy and hearty tones). I saw it for a brief moment yesterday while I was at the Collection store to make some returns and I couldn't stop thinking about it. That's my definition of MUST.HAVE. NOW.
Here it is, in XS:

It also come in burnished olive and a pink that I haven't seen IRL. The name on the recipt is "Dream Yoga sweater" and the style number is GY6877. It retails for $88.
I would have preferred if the arms were a little less tight so that you could wear a long-sleeve blouse under it, but the XS fitted so well that sizing up wouldn't have been a good idea and anyway it is going to look great with a tank under it. A few days ago I pre-ordered the Khloe Jacquard Cami in (guess?) cobblestone because I needed a ride-along for free shippinga and this cami was the new arrival that really caught my eye during the first (gasp, we are at the second one already and it's barely August!) fall rollout and the stores haven't received yet (I will report back when I receive it, after the 8/17 shipping date). The two should look smashing together.
I know that there are people who have sworn off the dream blend, but I am a fan. It is very soft (more pleasant on the skin than merino) and piling is not an issue for me. It's a little bit like wearing cashmere but without the price tag. If you have a different experience don't hesitate to share.
Just to be sure, I also tried the new cashmere crewneck in the same color, that was my original choice/option when I started to want something in heather cobblestone, but I actually preferred the dream one over the cashmere (because of the style I must admit). Anyway here is a (partial) pic (this is the XS, I found it a little bit tight in the arms):

In reality I was trying to take a pic of the Herringbone bell skirt that someone was asking about on the JCA and I had regretted not trying on the last time that I was in the store. I really liked the fabric an the color but the length and the elastic at the waist don't work for me (it's too young-looking, even if I know that some of you will say that I can pull off the mini length). Here I was already sizing up to a 2, so don't be afraid to size up, there is room for it.
Last new arrival that it tried is the Lace panel tee. This tee is very pretty IRL and almost worth its $42.50 price tag. However I am incapacitated to buy a tee FP at the moment, I have tee nausea after seeing all those graphic tees languishing for months in the sale section of the B&Ms. Maybe in a few weeks I will be ready again ;-).
Still, this one was tempting, very flattering and new:

What do you think of these new arrivals? Do you share the enthousiasm for the heather cobblestone color? Dream hate or love?
Ema, you are such an enabler. That dream sweater is gorgeous! I think it is a must have, too. I bought the tissue tonal ruffle tank in faded cobblestone (29172) and it's very pretty. It might work under the dream yoga sweater . . . Will have to check it out at the B&M this weekend. Thanks for posting the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting! I love the cobblestone colors too, and I don't mind the dream sweaters. They pill some but so do the cashmere so I don't feel as bad having paid less for the dream!
ReplyDeleteThe style of the yoga sweater slightly reminds me of the merino and cashmere double breasted cardigans from last year, except the yoga is sewn closed where the other cardi's button.
So glad you've ordered the Khloe, I keep wondering about it. I do like that shade, is it a camel tone or a bit more sludgey IRL?
ReplyDeleteOh! Loooooove this "yoga" cardigan! Love it in the cobblestone color, so perfect for fall. Something about the fit, is so elegant/classy. WHat a great find! I am also curious about this tee.....like you said, it is tempting!
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful sweater! I don't blame you for having a *must-have* moment with it. Hope that it hits the website soon and that it comes in some of the drool-worthy Dream colors.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the cobblestone colour -- here it is in the other 2 sweaters of this fall:

And also agree about the dream yoga sweater. It looks great!
Cute sweater! That is a great neutral color that will work with many pretty jewel tones this Fall.
ReplyDeleteYou may already know my strong opinion on that tee (from the JCA) but I just think they've lost their damn minds asking $42.50 for a tissue tee that has cobwebs printed in a rectangle on it. Wait on that..it will hit the sale soon;)
The sweater looks great on you: I think it is very Ema! I have to go check out this Khloe.
ReplyDeleteI adore the heather cobblestone color... have been eyeing it in the Rimini cardigan since it came out. The Dream sweater looks lovely on you, thanks for posting these pictures!
ReplyDeleteEma, thank you for the IRL photo and comments on the bell skirt. I was asking about it on the JCA blog so I really appreciate you taking the time to post on it. I will probably try it one size up in the Henna red color. I like minis for the weekend but I'm not fond of elastic waists since I'm pretty straight-figured so it may be a bust but worth a try. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteshopalot, thanks. I have to check out that tank now...
ReplyDeleteIRL, ditto re the dream sweaters. Yes, it reminded me a little bit the double-breasted cardigans from this spring but they were a little bit "retro" looking, while this one is sleeker IMO.
Tabitha, I don't know uet, it hasn't arrived. The cobbletone is not a camel though, it's between a gray and a brown (but more gray than brown if it makes sense). Unless you are talking about the other color offered in the Khloe (a golden pink, don't remember the exact name right now).
mrs.anketell, you are right about the fit, it is elegant but not dressy, which I like. BTW, still pregnant?
AppGal, yes I hope it will be offered on the website too. The burnished olive is gorgeous too and the SA talked about a pink, mybe it's worth checking out.
Rose, I tried on the Rimini but I didn't like the fit, it was pouching at the waist.
I think that the alpaca sweater is very nice (a must have too), but the season to wear "coat" knits in NYC is very short and I prefer a sweater that I can wear under a coat.
sweetsy, yes I saw your comment and respect your opinion. Don't worry I won't buy it FP (I had 20% off yesterday and didn't buy it if it's an indication). But I think that is a very pretty tee and I haven't been temped by an "embellished" tee in a very long time. By the way, the rectangular panel is in lace, not a print (not sure that it comes off like that on the website or my pics).
DaniBP, you are right and you know me well: it's very "me".
Andrea, the cobblestone color that the Rimini comes in is duller IRL than the heathered cobblestone IMO. Check it out in the cashmeres if your store doesn't carry this particular sweater.
xoxo, you are welcome. Yes, it was you, now I remember ;-). I agree on the elastic band not being flattering, I ended up returning the two summer skirts in the same style.

ReplyDeleteEma---NO, not still pregnant! My baby girl, Olivia, arrived July 2nd!! So thrilled to have a girl to play dress up with now:) Thanks for asking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reviews! What pants are you wearing in these pictures (they look olive and skinny)? I like them!
ReplyDeletemrs.anketell, congratulations! And what a cute name! Girls are dangerous for the wallet!
ReplyDeleteMPDA, those are the new twill toothpick psnts thst I was raving about in the previous post. The color is an in-store green (not really olive more of a pine green) called DFO.
