OOTD: Chambray And Tan

Good morning! Quick OOTD post today. I recently (uhm, OK, it was yesterday) bought the Linen dot popover (currently sold-out on the website but watch for popobacks) that was on my wishlist since it came out and I couldn't wait to wear it (thankfully the weather is cooperating). In case you haven't noticed this popover went on sale for $49.99 but is almost-sold out also in stores. I did a store search that gave no results and guess what? Yesterday morning I walk into the Collection store and there it is a XS waiting for me. I don't know what these WWFIFY people are drinking but clearly is not Crewlade.

Anyway, I don't think that is was worth full price because the fabric it is so snag-prone and also pill-prone that I don't know if it is going to last more than one season, honestly, but it is soooo cute and I am OK with paying $35 with the current 30% off promo.
As many have said this sweater is also a little bit sheer. Instead of wearing it with a cami I layered it over my contrast-stitch chambray shirt (that is thinner than a regular denim shirts, so it works better with this sweater), my favorite pair of jeans and my Reavas in royal tan (that are exactly the same color of the sweater. See why I need 100 pairs of shoes?):

I don't like to wear jewelry to school at 8 in the morning but this color looks great with bold gold jewelry like the link bracelet below:

Otherwise I tried it in the store with the double-strand resin giraffe necklace (sold-out on the website as well?) and it was soooo cute, I try not to buy JCrew jewelry these days but I really like that one because of the neutral colors and I will get it on sale if I can.

I hope you have a nice weekend, enjoy the weather while it lasts (winter is expected to come back on Monday, when the temperatures will drop to 45 degrees here in NYC. Don't put away your coats just yet). And if you have the time, please leave a comment to my previous post and tell me everything about your shoes. Don't be shy!

  1. So cute! I Love the chambray pairing with this top. Didn't realize it was on sale in stores...hmm...might have to do a search for one! I loved it when it first came out but like you, didn't think it was worth full price.

    1. They always go on sale while we are not watching. I saw it in the sale section one morning this week when I was up in the wee hours but not in my size. I hate that when you search or google something that is soldout, it shows the original price and not the current price. I think you can still find one before it's completely gonem

  2. I agree this sweater is sooo cute but not worth FP. I was able to snag one (from ebay) NWT for $40. Love it with the chambray!

    1. I think it was inspired by one of your outfits actually! I usually don't like to layer a popover over a button-down but I didn't want to wear white pants this morning and I like the outfit better with the button-down peeking out than worn alone.

  6. I saw your pot on the JCA. You can try to call the Collection store on Madison Avenue (212-249-3869). I am pretty sure they had a size S. Good luck!

  8. I am trying to track down this sweater too. How does it fit true to size?

    1. Yes, true to size. It stretches out a bit with wear so I wouldn't size up.

    2. Thanks so much for the size info definately makes me more confident of which size to search for! I think small should be perfect. If anyone sees one let me know!

  9. Ema, that's a great idea, to wear a chambray shirt under the sweater, it looks perfect!

    1. Thank you ajc, this sweater is very thin so it wouldn't work with a heavy cotton shirt like the vintage selvedge one.

  10. I love your reviews. I find the colour of the highlights in the green are vrey difficult to read...is it just my monitor. If others agree maybe changing the colour would be helpful to us. Thank you for all you do...
