So this is my OOTD:

An below it's IRL, at school (I had to cut my had off because of the mom in the background, it was impossible to keep my face and not hers). I like how the colors of the skirt and my daughter's tee really matched (in the end I was the only parent to wear orange and black but the teacher thanked me for the effort that I had put into it. That helps because normally I'm always late in returning book orders, papers to sign etc.).

This is really a fun skirt to wear at parties, especially kids parties. I had already worn it at a birthday party of one of my daughter's friends back in the summer and took a pic of the outfit that I never got to post, so it's now or never:

I think that I'm going to update this outfit with the Funnelneck cardigan that I have in champagne and of course tights and wear it around the holidays, I just love the tee and the skirt together.
Back to Halloween, yesterday I hosted a Halloween party for my daughter and her best friends (there were seven kids aged 18 months to 2 and half and at some point it got a little bit out of control, but I survived). I didn't wear a costume, but my daughter was just adorable in her bumble bee costume so I wanted to share a pic (I like this one because it looks like she's flying away):

I have to say that being European I never "felt" Halloween like an American but now that I have my daughter is different, I like the tricks or treats and the Halloween parties with her. I'm not going to wear a costume this year as my husband is still travelling and I'm not going to a grown-up party so I'm happy that I have at least pulled off the orange skirt this morning.
Happy Halloween everyone!
PS
Stay tuned for a "I need your help" post later this evening (or maybe two)!
You (and your daughter) are too cute!! It's fun to try to find Halloween colors to wear this time of year, isn't it? You came up with an ideal outfit. I absolutely love your daugher's bumblebee costume, too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post :) Your daughter is adorable and I loved that you dressed to match. Love the Gateau...I bought one when they first came out, then took it back with the intention of buying it when they went on sale, then missed it! It looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteEma, your daughter is so adorable!!!!! You look fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteBy the way I like the idea of a bright skirt paired with an otherwise all black ensemble! Definitely going to pair mine with a black turtleneck and tights!
You both look so cute! Your daughter is adorable in her bee costume and good job embracing our american traditions. It is so much easier with kids!
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits are so cute. Halloween is a fun holiday.
ReplyDeleteOT - I bought the bronze belt which you wore in a photo a while back and I love it. It goes with everything.
i agree with everybody else, your daughter is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI just love your outfit! And your daughter is just so sweet and precious in her bumble costume!
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies, I wore it again today (with another top) and will wear it tomorrow too! This is definitively going to be an Halloween favorite.
ReplyDeleteAnn, thanks! Yes my daughter got tons of compliments walking in the street in her costume today. She was too precious.
AppGal, thank you. I too waited for it to go on supersale and I was lucky enough to find one in my size for very cheap ($23 if I'm not wrong, almost the same price of an ugly Halloween tee-shirt and I can wear it all-year-around)!
Dominique, thank you! I saw someone wearing this skirt with a black top back in the summer and thought that something looked off. Now I know what was it was: the (absence of) tights! It will look great with a black turtleneck.
Kathy, thank you! Yes, this year for the first time I'm having fun at Halloween. Halloween parties for kids are fun, I like the treats and the goodie bags!
Daisy, thank you. That belt is great, I don't understand how it hasn't sold out yet (especially at the current price).
Ina and Emily, thank you!
Sorry I am a bit late on commenting (it's been a busy week) but I just wanted to say "Ditto" to what everyone else said!! You and your daughter look fantastic in your *matching* Halloween outfits!! And your daughter looks absolutley ADORABLE in her bumble bee costume! (:
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
