Tees on Sale and OOTD

Just a quick post (no, it's not the giveaway yet) to let you know that a bunch of in-store only tees went on sale earlier this week, including the "Headache" tee (I saw one at the Madison Avenue-Midtown store), the "doggies" tee (I saw 2 Large at the same store) and the "Savon au Fleur de Lys" tee. They are all on sale for $19.99 I believe, but there were only two or three of each in the store. I picked up the Savon au Fleur de Lys (I love it, if you are interested in this one the Madison Collection store has two S) and the sparkling rose tee in the pewter color that went down to $29.99 and is also available on the website.

I'm wearing the Savon au Fleur de Lys tee (I had to wear it immediately) but earlier this morning I was wearing the new gingham shirt that I bought during the shopping event at the Columbus Cirle store last Sunday. I wasn't really convinced about the shirt but because we had a 20% off on all the purchases (it came down to $51 and it was one of the few things that they had in my size) I took it home.
I like this shirt but I don't wear shirts that much now that I don't work (I prefer blouses or tees and cardis) and I was afraid that it would hang in my closet unworn with many others that I've bought in the past. In other terms: I don't "need" this shirt. But I tried a few outfits with it and think that it looks adorable under the Gap schoolboy blazer (so it's a keeper):

It also look nice over a tissue turtleneck for added warmth. Today I was wearing it without boots because it's very warm and at same point I had to take off the blazer.
If you want to call a store, the item style is 23950. I'm wearing a 0 an it's perfect on me but if you're tall you might consider sizing up because the sleeves are quite short.

Have a nice day!

  3. I just wanted to add that you can supposedly pre-order the buffalo-checked top from online. the store I was in didn't have my size, and the SA couldn't find it anywhere, so I preordered it. I'm always a little suspect of this process as there is no confirmation and no guarantee the item won't sell out before the pre-orders are put through (catalog personnel have ask to new roll-out items when they go on the website at the same time that customers do), but hopefully I'll get it! Especially as Ema's cute outfit only makes me want it more!

  4. OMG I love that shirt on you! I am wondering if it is boxy? Or does it have some nice fitted tailoring, darts etc?

  5. You look cute with your schoolboy blazer and boots! If you don't mind sharing, where did you get your boots? I am petite and I am having a hard time finding some riding boots that fit and are proportionate to my height and leg size.

  7. I love this on you! I think I was the only one who didn't end up purchasing this. Maybe I'll have to reconsider. I really love it paired with the blazer.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale tees.

  9. Great look - I love your blazer! Wish I had bought this. Thanks so much for the info on the Zara cardigan - I found the last cardigan in the city and picked it up today -- It's perfect with the beaded bow top!

  10. hi, ema!
i wore my checkered shirt today too! paired it w/my navy jamie sweater/jacket and some skinny jeans and flats...it looks fantastic on you--i might have to try it with a blazer as well!

  11. Molly Darling, thank you!

HeidiG, I forgot to mention that the tee that you bought with the big abstract flowers is on sale too.

kater, thanks for sharing the info. My shirt has HOL09 on the tag that is sawn on the side, maybe it helps.

DaniBP, it's not boxy, quite fitted but not superfitted as some of their shirts (no darts and you can wear a tissue turtleneck under it). I bought my regular size.

Emily, the boots are an old (at least 4 years) pair by Nine West. I don't know if you can see it in the pics but they have a heel. They are pretty good quality for the price that I paid. I also have issues when it comes to boots because my size is usually too tight in the calf (like, cannot-zip-it-up tight) and these were one of the few that I could actually wear.

Anna, I saw a few blazers on the sale rack at the Gap, so maybe you can still get your hands on one (best purchase ever).
I'm glad that you found the Zara cardigan and that you like it.

Stephanie, thank you, I bet that you look fantastic in yours!
I only saw the fleur tee at the Collection store, the other twos (Midtown) didn't have it.

Sweet Tea, thank you. It's going to be one of my favorite shirts I think. I like that is a preppy print but somehow the shirt has a cool factor.

Summerilla, if you ever reconsider, take a size 2, the 0 looked really short on you. And thank you again for organizing the event, I can't wait for the next one!

luv fashion, congratulations! I think it's going to sell fast because it's reasonably priced.

  13. Ema that outlift is perfect!! I love it!
Now I really want the Zara cardi to go with my bow top! This blog reading is not good for my wallet! ;)

2 quick questions: do you remember what sizes the Mad store had of the headache T? I called for a S and the guy said they had none but I wondered whether he really looked... And could you possibly post/email me a pic of the savon t? Nothing fancy just wanted to see if it is what I think it is:). Mommydearestjca (at) yahoo(com)
    thanks!!

  14. D, thank you.

Mommy Dearest, I think that the smallest headache tee that they had was a M (I'm positive about seeing a L), so he was probably right.
I don't have a pic of the savon tee, but Gigi has a pic in this post: in this post

  21. I went home and tried this exact outfit on (minus the boots but will have to remember it for next time) and loved it! You look amazing, and also pulled off the tucked-in look incredibly well that Sunday (I'm too shortwaisted, I think)! As i mentioned to Summer, it was a classic moment when we all came out of the dressing rooms wearing the exact same shirt!
