These are two outfits with the shirt that I wore this week. The first features the short-sleeved navy cashmere tee that I bought at the sample sale. You have already seen this outfit in my sample sale post, but I added the detail of the pearl necklace:

If there is something that I have learned from Jcrew, style-wise, is that a necklace can change everything. This is a pretty casual-preppy look, but with a pearl necklace it looks "pulled together".
The second outfit features the merino sweeatshirt (again, I know. At least I'm wearing what I bought) ad I wore it yesterday to the playground and a quick stop at the Collection store on our way back:

The fact that the merino sweatshirt is a little bit sheer and that you can see the shirt underneath doesn't bother me in this case. It was a little bit of a hassle to roll the sleeves of the shirt over the sleeves of the sweatshirt (as the sweatshirt has pretty long sleeves), but I think that the look benefited from it.
The forecasts for today are rain and snow, yikes! But at least I can wear my new black Vintage Roadster boots that I grabbed on sale. There is nothing like breaking out new clothes to fight bad weather blues!
I should have enough time this afternoon to post quickly some new arrivals pics, stay tuned!
I never got the checkered shirt but instead got the smaller-checked gingham shirt in blackberry. I think I may like it better since the smaller print better suits my style, but I still love seeing your checkered shirt on others. The navy color looks so good with the yellow! I may have to replicate this look with my honey glaze cardigan.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I never ended up buying this shirt either but I do regret it sometimes. I love how you styled and you are definitely getting your moneys worth on that shirt.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love it with the pearls. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday :)

I also love it with pearls. After seeing it reappear yesterday, I was reminded that I have it in my closet. I'm going to style it with pearls also, for a classic, crisp look for spring.
ReplyDeleteEma & AppGal, I stalked this shirt from Canada when it first came out and was out-of-stock online and it is definitely one of my best cost-per-wear JC purchases this year. I tend to shy away from yellow/ honey glaze although I have a bit in my closet so thanks for the sunny combo inspiration ladies, will try! And you are so right about one accessory livening up an "ordinary" shirt and pullover match.
ReplyDeleteI have this navy checked shirt and the grey one! ;) And, because I love these two so much, I ordered the GIANT check shirt (in navy) too! =P I just received it in the mail yesterday so I haven't played around with it enough to know if I'm going to keep it or not though!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you paired it with the honey glaze/yellow- perfection! I've also worn mine with purple(s) and that combination looks fab as well! Thanks for sharing! :)
love this shirt, in both outfits. I am really liking that yellow merino sweatshirt/sweater! i saw one in the sale section at my store, but not in my size:(
ReplyDeleteI love the checkered shirt. Three times worn in one week? It's official: you're in love!
ReplyDeleteI have the merino sweatshirt in the dark gray.. I love it. Maybe I need a checked shirt to wear under? I'll have to take a second look!
love the check shirt! i saw the grey one in store paired with a mint green cardigan.. it looked so cute!
