It's called the Marrakesh Embroided Top and retails for $69.50. I have to say that the first time that I saw it in the store I dismissed it without even trying it because it looked like a leftover from two years ago, when peasant tops where everywhere, especially in white (well, had I known that it was called "Marrakesh Top" I would probably have tried it, as I love Marrakesh. We had a vacation, in fact it was a road trip, in Morocco ten years ago and absolutely loved it). But while I was strolling my daughter in the park the other day I saw a lady wearing this top in navy with the lizard skirt and she looked adorable. So the next time that I went in the store, I tried it and bought it. Did I tell you that I love navy?
So here it is. It's not the reason why I bought it but I'm so happy that it goes well with the daisy eyelet mini (the first one) that I'm having a challenge to pair with anything in my closet:

I plan to wear this outfit for our Father's Day lunch if it doesn't rain.

And this is with jeans:

Have you seen this top in your B&M?
Have a Happy Father's Day Weekend everyone!
I'm loving the top and noticed that it was not included with the new rollouts. Do you know what the item number was? I've seen a few on Ebay and they called it the Daisy tunic top.
ReplyDeletethe top looks really nice on you!
ReplyDeletei got two of the new arrivals:the microstriped boatneck in grey and the ringspun cotton cardigan in nickel.
enjoy sporting your new top on the weekend!

I don't recall seeing this in my B&M. It looks great on you. I'm a big navy fan too.
ReplyDeleteI did not see this top! Very cute on you!
ReplyDeleteI love the top tucked into jeans!
ReplyDeleteI did see this in my store and didn't pay much attention but seeing it ON...it is so darn cute! Ugh! I must resist...I must resist!
ReplyDeleteThis top is adorable on you! I have not seen it in any of my local stores! :( I L-O-V-E navy too!
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on your other posting too, but I was wondering if you could tell me how the sizing of the indigo floral print top/tank is? I sometimes have problems w/ J.Crew's tops being too tight under the arms- Did you happen to notice anything like that on this top? TIA!!!
Very cute on you! I'm not sure I have seen it at my B&M but I will look for it this afternoon.
ReplyDeletetld51371, you're right, it's not part of the new rollout, it must be a retail-only item. I haven't checked but I would be surprised if this top had made it to ebay already. The syle number on the ticket is GY6501, hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteina, congrats on your purchases!
Stephanie, Petunia, Zoe Moet, MMM and Emily, thank you. I have to say that this top is not very noticeable compared to the other more eye-catching new arrivals so maybe it was in your local stores but you haven't seen it.
Pam, I did the same thing. I didn't even considered trying it on until I saw it on the lady in the park. It's much cuter on than on the hanger. Plus the navy is much better than the white IMO.
MMM, I've replied to your question in the other post.
I saw this top in white at my store. I am not a fan. It's very wrinkly and too...simple
ReplyDeleteHi Ema--I didn't notice this at my store until the PS suggested I try it on. Once I tried it, I absolutely loved the look and feel (such soft, light cotton). I got it too!
ReplyDeleteOooh, navy? I love navy! I will have to check this out - thanks for posting! So cute with the eyelet mini!
ReplyDeleteI picked this top up in navy. It's very cute and last time I checked, there was only one navy and alot of white tops remaining at the store.
ReplyDeletetld51371: the daisy eyelet tunic top is a different top than the marrakesh top. I think the daisy eyelet tunic top is from spring/summer 2008.
