Back to Summer: White, Coral and Gold

I have been so much into "fall" fashion that I almost forgot that it's still summer here and actually the peek of the summer has still to come for me and my family as we are going on a beach vacation at the end of the week. So bye-bye for a little while fall clothes and welcome back summer outfits.

I went to the ATL today to pick up the Peacock scarf with the F&F 30% off coupon (valid online and in store) and while I was there I also grabbed another of their jackiesque cardigans (there was only one left and it was my size, and at $14 I couldn't pass on it) and a matching tank that inspired me the outfit below. Don't you love when you are at the register and see the price that you would have paid without the coupon and then the actual price? I love these F&F events, they are a real incentive to buy for me because you get the lowest prices of the year and you don't have to wait for the items that you want NOW to go on sale. I only wished that Jcrew had more of these F&F (or as they say, "secret sales").

Anyway, the cardi and the matching tank are in a color very similar to the Jcrew bright papaya (on the pics it came across a little bit more orange but it's actually a pinkish coral). It's one of those colors that scream summer to me and I haven't bought anything in this color in a while, so I jumped on the occasion.

I love it with white and gold accessories:

I took the following pic to show you the profile of my new Tory cork wedges, bought on super-sale at Neiman Marcus. My husband made me promise that I would return them (I went a little bit over-budget last month) but I think that they are a "necessity" in my wardrobe as they lighten up many outfits, give me a little bit of extra height and are super-comfy. So that, is not going to happen and just to make sure I wore them yesterday night with the silk BR dress for an evening out with a couple of friends:

And here is another pic:

While I was trying this outfit my eye fell on a top that as lying on a shelf of my closet and I didn't get around to wear much last year. Because it's golden and white, I decided to give it a try under the cardigan:

It's an Alice+Olivia top that I bought on sale last year and is a fun top but as I said I wore it only once or maybe twice and for that reason I have tried to sell it on the JCA. But I'm loving it with this cardigan and I'm going to take it off the market! Detail of the golden beading:

I have a couple of posts that I wanted to write before leaving but I'm very behind in getting ready for the beach (I haven't started packing yet and I still have this week's laundry to do), so I don't know if I'm going to have the time but I will at least say goodbye.

In any case I hope that you're having a great week!

  6. Stylestance, thank you. I can't wait to be on the beach and eat lobster rolls... I just hope that the weather will be nice (not granted this year)

    Cate, thank you!

mrs.anketell, yes I couldn't really let that scarf in the store, especially for the price. I also picked up the floral black$white for $10.
And thank you, I love my Tories!

Summerilla, thank you. I have to wear that top more often.

Rachel, I think it was called something like 3/4 sleeve crewneck cardigan but it is sold out almost everywhere now. Your best bet is a return in a store (in fact I think that mine was a return). Anyway the style # is 85121737 (current price $19.99), hope it helps.

  7. Those colors look great on you!! I love your new cork wedges. They are classics, and will look great no matter where you go. That peacock scarf is gorgeous - were there plenty left? I checked on ATL.com and they said that there were none within 150 miles of 10022! Also where did you get the Friends and Family Coupon for Ann Taylor loft?

  8. Dominique, thank you!
They had quite a few of them at the store on 3d Avenue and 84th, but I only saw the cobalt blue color and not the other one that is offered on the website, maybe that's why?
I didn't have the coupon (and I don't know where to get it, maybe on Gigi's blog?) but the manager was nice enough to scan one that they keep at the register. I guess that if you tell them that you know about the F&F but you couldn't print the coupon they will do the same with you (even if she said that "they're not supposed to")
