A JCrew Dog Day

OK, I'm jumping ahead of me with this post but I have to show you one of the cutest things ever.

If you haven't children, you probably don't waste your time perusing the Crewcuts section of the website. So you have probably missed the Girls' chihuahua tee.
I saw this tee for the first time a few months ago at the Soho store that at that time was the only store in the city to carry the Crewcuts collection but they didn't have a size 2 and the size 3 looked too big for my daughter (I wanted her to be able to wear it right away, not next year). So I left it at the store. Big mistake! This tee sold out immediately and the size 2 never appeared on the website (while the size 3 was backordered until mid-October!) I had some hope that the new Crewcut store on Madison would carry it but I missed the opening when I was on vacation and when I checked out the store they didn't have it.
So imagine my surprise when I checked the website on Monday and saw that a size 2 was available and ready to ship. I immediately ordered it (and got 20% off with the code COOKIE that worked even if this wasn't my first Crewcut order).

This is the first time that I HAD to have a cloth not for me but for my daughter. You have to know that my daughter loves dogs, no matter the size. She's scared of flies but she's not afraid to pat even the biggest and scariest mastiff (which could be a problem at some point).
And she has a chihuahua, not a real one but just as much adorable. Some time ago I was at a children's store to buy a present and I saw this:



It came in a purse to carry it around. The purse is even more adorable than the dog. My daughter isn't into girly things yet but she LOVES it:




And of course when we stroll around and she's carrying it, everybody stops to watch her and say something. It is THAT cute.

For one of those serendipity cases, the tee arrived the day before yesterday and that was when I went into the Jcrew store to return something and bought some of new arrivals. And here is where I'm jumping ahead of myself: one of the new arrivals that I bought is a new retail-only "dog" tee. You might remember it from one of the Fall preview slideshows on the JCA blog, this tee that was peeking under one of the new jackets (can't remember which one but I do remember being excited about the tee).
So my dog day wasn't a bad one: I got my hands on two new Jcrew tees and both feature dogs (here is a close-up of my dog tee, more details in the next post):
