New Arrivals Pics

First of all thank you all for the sympathy that you have demonstrated towards my "condition" in the previous post. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it even if I haven't commented back yet. Misery loves company, right?
I have come up with some resolution for my addiction that I will share in a future post but I wanted to post very quickly the pictures of the new arrivals that I took when I was in the store last Thursday before my husband comes back, just in case you know, he thinks that I need to go back to rehab for a few days.
I have only tried tops and not bottoms because I was in a hurry (and there aren't many new bottoms anyway).

First a bunch of new tees that are not available online yet. The first one is very similar to the blazon tee of a few seasons ago, but the blazon is just printed and not textured. Looking at the pic I can see some sequins that I hadn't noticed when I tried it on. It runs small, the XS was very fitted:

Here is the syle number (this time I didn't forget to take pics of the tags in case you are interested in any of these items):

This one is a variation of the reindeer tee (I think) and I apologize but I forgot to take the style number. It was looser than the previous one:

And this one is a new "snowflake" tee. Very pretty IMO but I can't comment on the fit because they were (already) out of XS. The S was very large on me though, so I guess that it runs TTS:

They had the Fair Isle cardigan and I tried it on because I know that it an item that caused some debate over at the JCA. I don't know if it is because of the acrylic component in the fabric but it is supersoft and not itchy at all (I have tried it with a short-sleeved tee). The XS was VERY fitted, especially in the sleeves (you cannot wear it with a long sleeved tee or shirt):

However, the S in the other design (the Skye Isle cardigan) was boxy:

The following is the Gipsy rose Metallic cami. The color IRL is more more golden (like a chocolate wrap paper) than it appears on the website and I didn't recognize the rose until I saw the pics:

It has a side zip but I think that it was unflattering on me.
Especially compared to the Annalise Ruffle Cami in the gorgeous cinnamon spice color. The 0 was TTS but the neckline was lower on me than on me model:

And here I'm trying it with the (un)famous Bling-button cardigan in bright olive. I'm SO happy that I didn't order this cardigan. The fabric reminded me of the socks that some airline companies used to give the passenger on intercontinental flights. Really not up to the quality that one could expect from Jcrew IMO. In case you are still interested, the fit is TTS (I'm trying a XS):

The last item that I have tried is a new (longer) version of the constellation cardigan, in a pale pink (I haven't seen other colors but I bet that it comes in black too):

It was a nice blend (maybe dream?) but the price of this one is pretty steep ($168).
That's all for now. Do you like any of these new arrivals? If you have any questions I will replay on Monday (I hope that it can wait)!

Have a great weekend!

  1. I love the new tees, especially the snowflake and (other) reindeer ones. I just found a similar snowflake tee from the outlet (looks like last year's) and am happy with it, so no more wintery tees for me! Thanks for the pics!

  2. Thanks for the pics, I like the first tee, I think it is the tee underneath item 20781. Is it slub or ringspun cotton?

  3. casual-crew, it's ringspun cotton (as the reindeer one)

  4. thanks for the pics.
    is the bling-button cardigan itchy?
is the light berry color in this cardigan more pink or purple?
it looks nice in the picture, was the quality very flimsy?
    TIA
BTW, i have to stop spending too.
i still have lots of unworn items, like the perfect fit cotton contrast stitch shirt and the doggie tee and lots more.

  5. I like the fair isle cardigan, it looks really fitted which is nice. It looks like it would look great with the gray perfect pencil skirt (but it is very pricey).
I can't wait to read about your solution regarding your addiction! Could it apply to some of us bloggie friends as well? ;)

  6. Ina- I bought the bling bling cardi in red- SUPER itchy. Old Navy has a similar one I decided to replace it with (for only 19!)

  7. Great pics! I plan on checking the store out Sunday. I have a return and then need to hit crate and barrel for some last minute Thanksgiving things, but now you've convinced me to check out j.crew.

  8. thanks for the IRL photos! I like the first tee too - I wasn't aware that our stores had anything new. maybe I'll just have to go check that out tomorrow. :)

  9. I don't like the new arrivals. Just saw many in person yesterday. I will be loading up reviews, but I am not a fan. Only one thing struck my fancy and I passed on it for now. This is my opinion & has nothing to do with how things look on you. Thanks for sharing your photos. :-)

  10. Love the new black reindeer tee and the new snowflake tee. I only need ONE holiday tee----so now the question is, which one will it be? Which one is most versatile? What do YOU think?? Thank you so much for taking these photos....heehee:)

  11. ina, I loved the bling cardigan online (I was interested in the fresh guava) but it's very disappointing IRL (not only the quality of the fabric but also the colors, they aren't as vivid as they appear in the pics). Trust me on this one ;-).

DaniBP, I liked the fair isle cardigan too (quite surprisingly as I wasn't interested at all), if you can grab it on sale I think you will like it.
And yes, my solution could apply to my blogger pals too ;-)

    Cate, DITTO on the bling

Pamela, let me know if you liked anything

RatsOnParade, I have too many tees in the champagne color but it ia a cute.

gigiofca, welcome back ;-). I agree there wasn't anything that I HAD to have (which makes my detox easier). But I love the athmosphere in the stores (especially Jcrew) at this time of the year.

mrs.anketell, that's a million dollar question ;-). I am partial to the new snowflake tee (by the way, I have noticed that I switched the tag of the snowflake tee with the tag of the constellation cardigan in the post, it doesn't cost $168!), because I have a pair of snowflake earrings exactly identical (same color). I bought the antlers one during the 20% off promo because I think it's more "abstract" and could be worn at other time of the year (and I also love the slouchy fit), but I'm not 100% convinced. I will have a post on it soon. The problem with snowflakes and reindeers is that they have a too short of a wear span for the Jcrew price IMO. I don't know if it helps!

  12. thanks for saving me a trip to jcrew. i need to stay out of there and since they have updated their sale section, i know i would end up buying something i don't need. i do like the first tee, but i'm really tee-ed out. i was curious about the gypsy rose top...how ridiculous is that??? stay strong.

  15. Thanks for sharing these w/ us Ema!

I ended up purchasing the first tee, the snowflake tee, AND the elk tee! What can I see, I am a J.Crew tee addict! =P I also tried on the bling cardi and I couldn't agree w/ you more~ a total diappointment! :(

Would you mind if I clipped your tee pictures to Polyvore? I tired to recreate them on there but there's nothing better than the *real thing*! But if you don't want them on PV- I will totally understand! :)
