The Slub Retro Floral Tee (IRL pics)

So, the "love child" tee of my previous post is actually called "Slub Retro Floral Tee". The color is WPI, that, I think, stands for Whisper Pink. I haven't seen it in the new arrivals on the website, so it must be retail-only for the time being.
I agree that it's a little bit deja-crew, but I haven't bought any of the most recent floral or "necklace" tees and as I said the colors of this one are just beautiful.

In my opinion, this tee is made for the perfect pencil skirt in dusty blossom. I liked the idea of wearing that skirt with a tee and a cardi (it tends to look a little bit too "school teacher" with a shirt, at least for me) but I hadn't find the perfect tee so far. Until I saw this one in store and immediately thought that it would look great with it.
I'm wearing it with my new Michelle (I needed some pink) and my old dark charcoal one (I love how the color of the tee seem to change depending on the color of the cardigan):

While I'm at it I wanted to show you a pic of the script coat. The color is to die for. Now, it's a size 2 and it's a little bit roomy in the body but otherwise perfect in the shoulders (I will have the sleeves shortened a little bit). I think that I actually might like it better than a 0 because of the added lenght, I don't like when a coat is too short and you can't tell if it's a long jacket or a short coat (the ruffle one for example, is too short for me to be called coat). But I would like to know your honest opinion, do you think that it looks too big (please take into account the gimmick required to take the picture)? I can still return it (during the sample sale, not that I'm looking forward going back) and buy something else instead (like, a cashmere sweater with a hole or another pair of flats).

I will try to comment back in the previous posts now, if my daughter doesn't wake up!

  1. I say keep the coat ... it's beautiful, doesn't look too big, and I always like a slightly roomy coat better than a fitted one. You did well at the sample sale :)

  2. I love that coat, I think it is really beautiful on you. It doesn't look too big, fitting in the shoulders is the most important thing. Maybe shorten the sleeves a bit, but you must keep it!
HAHA! Exchange for a "cashmere sweater with a hole in it"!

  5. Love the coat, but it does look a little too big. I actually wear pretty much the same size in clothes as you, and tried it in a zero and it was perfect...just couldn't decide on which color to buy. When I'm unsure of an item, and I need to ask others opinion, I end up returning it. When I LOVE something I know right away. There are times I buy something that I'm not sure about, but I know I have 60 days to make up my mind, and thats a BIG thing.

  7. I think that coat looks great. And I have to say, I didn't even like that coat -- until I saw it on you. I think the size is perfect for you, and you really wear it well. However, I have to say, that I have always had bad experiences myself shortening coat sleeves and try not to do it. But you are so good with your clothes -- I know you wouldn't go to the trouble if you didn't have an awesome seamstress. I think you scored some great deals; Bravo!

  8. I love this coat on you - it doesn't look like it's meant to be a very fitted coat - but as Luv Fashion said if you're not totally sure then listen to your instincts --- but IMO it looks great on you. Would love to order the tee -- do you have the item number for it??? Thanks!! Anna

  9. Adore the coat, but it does look a little boxier than I prefer....is it supposed to fit that way? What about offering it on JCA? Surely someone will snatch it up :)

Clothingline says they will restock tomorrow afternoon. If you do go back, will you please give us an update?
