OOTD: Summer Paisley

Last Polyvore, I promise. I wore this outfit last week, I had just received the ink-dip popover in african violet from final sale and couldn't resist the urge of wearing it (it looked great with my tan), even if it wasn't a day for long sleeves (obviously I rolled them up but it was still too hot). I probably looked ridiculous but whatever.
The skirt is the factory printed pencil skirt in the salt color, aka the Palermo paisley print. I LOOOOVE this print and in fact I also own the bikini (see below). I also like that the fabric is lightweight (I couldn't wear my other summer pencil skirts in these temperatures but I can easily wear this one).
The ink-dip popover is a little bit boxy (short) but it stays tucked in so I am happy with my regular size 0:

These are a couple of outfits that I had tried back in May and June with this skirt to give you an idea of what you can pair with this skirt (love the first one with the Theory orange top in particular):

And because I haven't posted my vacation pictures yet, I will show you a couple with the bikini in the same print (the pool was one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen, BTW):

Do you have something in the Palermo paisley print?

  1. What an incredible looking pool! Was it right on the coast? It looks like an infinity edge pool - but better. Can I ask where this was? It look like you must be having a nice vacation!

  2. I love the Palermo paisley too. I've been hesitant to try a Factory skirt since I usually need a petite. The length looks perfect on you.
It's a very versatile print too. You look great in all three renditions. I especially like the violet popover and the Merona top.

  3. life as a cat, it's the Westin in St. Marteen (we went there two weeks ago for a wedding, you mut have missed my posts). The hotel lacked a bit of personality but the pool and beach were amazing. The pool was a "faux-infinity" so to speak, after the edge that you see in the first pic there was a fall with another pool. More posts coming soon.

maryeb, yes it is on the short side of their pencil skirts. I bought it almost full price to try it on telling myself that I would try to re-buy later but I liked it so much that I kept it.

  5. Love your vacation pics. Totally didn't get the hype about this skirt, but it really looks lovely on you.

  6. You are right about the swim tops this year! I had to go down in either the cup or band size ... or both! just so they wouldn't fall off! What's the point of having the bra-sizing on swim tops if they are totally off?!

    Anyway - awesome pics!
