The Perfect Beige Flats: The TB Prescotts in Sand

As you know I have added quite a lot of beige-camel to my closet this season (last in date: the classic mini in felted wool, review coming soon) and I have been looking for a pair of flat in a similar shade. I have the Tory Burch Revas in tumbled leather in Royal Tan for the spring but I wanted something that could better stand the winter weather and also in a lighter color than tan but without pink undertones (like many of the JCrew offerings).
I am happy to report that I found what I was looking for, at Tory Burch again (I know, I am obsessed). I had almost settled for the patent Revas in the sand color, that appear to be sold-out everywhere but could find in my size at Saks:

However, this would have been my fourth pair of Revas (I have the black ones, even if they are on their last mile I think, the tumbled leather ones and the "limited edition" grey flannel ones from last year) and I decided to wait and see.
Last Friday I went to Bloomingdales, that was running a repeat of the F&F with 20% off on almost everything, including Tory Burch (that was excluded during the previous promo). I could re-purchase the Amy pumps (that are basically Revas with a 2" stacked heel) that I had purchased FP for my school tours and interviews and they had just received these Patent Prescotts in Sand.
I don't know if they make this style every year or it's a new one but it was the first time that I saw them and it was love at first sight. When I was about to go to the register, someone put back on the shoe stand the navy and I ended up buying those too because I couldn't decide and I didn't want to miss on the 20% off.
Once home I showed them to my husband and asked him to help me decide which color to keep. Mistake! Of course my husband thinks that I don't need any new pair of shoes since we can't even walk in our walk-in closet anymore because of my shoe boxes laying on the floor (true). Oh well, I decided on my own and I am keeping the sand ones because admittedly I don't need the navy (but it is so difficult to find navy shoes and these ones are so beautiful that I would keep them just for the sake of it).

I tried my regular size 7 but they were roomier than my other Tory Burch shoes (I am consistently a 7 in TB), they were almost falling off my feet. I almost bought half a size smaller but patent doesn't have a lot of give and I was afraid that they would hurt my feet at the end of the day so I asked the SA to bring me another 7 in case it would fit differently from the first pair and these were definitively more TTS (still slightly bigger than usual but comfortable to wear). That's the advantage of buying in store versus buying online I guess. I liked the shape in particular, which is a nice change from the more rounded-toe Revas, without being pointy:

And here with various camel-based outfits I tried them with:

I am very happy with these shoes, they are a real beige that goes with everything and because they are patent they will (hopefully) be easier to care for. If I have the courage to take pics of the navy ones before returning them (I am afraid that if I take them out of the box I will end up keeping them), I will post them in case someone is interested.

Have you found the perfect beige shoes?

  1. The texture is just wonderful!!!
I have not found the perfect "nude" shoe yet. It's a never-ending quest to find the right shade. I've actually had my eye on a pair of Monas.

  2. Oh I really like them, much more subtle than the ones with the giant badge, which I have - what was I thinking?

  3. Those are lovely - I like them a lot - the tiny logo and the weaving... beautiful. Thank you for all the sizing info. I am also really liking camel, nude & patent right now.

  4. ps - We have similar shoe style - I also have the black Revas and tumbled leather (I think we both have Royal Tan?) and the Amy pumps (in brown) from a couple years ago... so I appreciate your picks!

  5. Ooooh, love the stitching! Really jazzes up the beige. My "perfect beige plats" are Tories as well-- Edie flats in patent. But after seeing these beauties I may have to check them out in another color during my next mall excursion!

  7. My perfect 'beige' shoes (well, more like toffee or caramel) are also TB, those Sally wedges, I so so so love them. As for the husband, next time, ask us first before asking him!

  9. fahonmymind, the Monas are so pretty but the heel is too high for my everyday life. I can justify buying one pair only on super-sale.

Tabitha, you mean the Revas or your Roger Viviers? I like them on you, I think they suit you well.

Sparrow, I thought you had a similar pair, with tassels? I know we have pretty similar taste in shoes, especially Tory's, I also like your reviews!

Lizzie, I tried the Eddies several times but each time I feel like I am wearing slippers. Plus I have MANY Gap city flats in that style that I bought for real cheap. The Prescotts come in sand, navy and black, or at least those are the colors that I saw at Bloomi.

Sue, this my first woven leather anything!

dinster, a you know I love those Sallies but yes, they are more caramel, like my tumbled leather Revas.

DaniBP, I had to involve my husband because I felt guilty about spending all that money in shoes. It is always better when I tell him that I am going to return something that I just bought, before he finds out on the cc statement!
