I wore some variation of camel and grey for two days in a row, so I thought that it was worth a post. Camel and grey is actually a pairing that I don't think of or clearly try to avoid when getting dressed, the two colors being too neutral to really go together. But yesterday I really wanted to wear my felted wool bistro mini in grey AND my cashmere cable sweater in heather camel so I thought "Whatever". It actually turned out to be a great outfit thanks to the topper, my Zara camel coat which is exactly the same shade of camel than the cashmere cable sweater. I didn't take a pic but today I wore a grey cashmere knit dress by Calypso and my Zara coat again, to the same effect, so this time around I took pics:
People are quite surprised when I tell them that the coat is from Zara, it has a luxurious finish to it that you don't associate with Zara (the wool looks like cashmere double-faced wool). I should tell that it's a Chloe or Celine!
In this outfit accessories are key. My scarf is the cashmere scarf in heather acorn that I bought during the 25% off and matches the color of the coat (even if it is a little darker) and my grey Tory Burch hobo pulls everything together (I also had metallic pewter ballet flats in real life). This hobo is really great, it goes with everything and it is very sturdy (I wore it under the rain and snow and it came out unscathered). I just have to get used to the fact that you can't pull on the handles to open it (I am used to double-handled totes).
This is what I was wearing under the coat, as I said a Calypso cashmere dolman-sleeves dress that I bought at the end of the season last year for really cheap (I don't remember if I posted about it already but I remember taking pics). It is the perfect throw-on-and-go dress and I wear it quite often. I was a little bit hesitant about the marsupial pocket but I think that it makes it a little bit special (the yellow mess on the right is a tent that my daughter has built for her stuff animals and absolutely cannot be removed under any circumstance):
Ok, gotta go now. I hope to have more time tomorrow for a few reviews.
Do you wear camel and grey together?

All the time, but I really need a grey bag, I'm always cramming everything into my pockets.
ReplyDeleteI've never thought about wearing this combination, but seeing it on you makes me realize that it's very refined looking.
ReplyDeleteLove the grey dress, marsupial pocket and all!
Ema I've been wearing this combination too because I have the gray rigby and with the gray bag the camel + gray thing just seems to really work!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't have quite the same effect with a black bag.
I just read your current post and I also succumbed to the Seine. I ordered it with my husband's new winter coat just this week! I'm glad to know you love it.
Love the bag, Ema. The Calypso dress is great. I should have gotten one too! Oh well.
ReplyDeleteLove the heather acorn scarf, too! :)
