Before resuming my "dresses" series, I wanted to post pics of my weekend outfits (before another weekend is upon us).
On Saturday I had an appointment with my hairdresser for my fall cut and color (meaning that I had to spend all my afternoon at the salon). Remember my birthday cashmere poncho? I hadn't the occasion to wear it yet but as I went out before lunch to get my bread I realized that it was the perfect weather (too cold for a simple shirt and cardigan but still too warm for outwear). I had already decided to wear my H&M horse tunic, so I simply threw it over it. It looked great, I think:
I was also wearing my $5 chain necklace and my hairdresser asked me (with big eyes) if it was gold. It is true that it really looks like massive gold and it crossed my mind that I risk to be mugged for a $5 fake gold necklace. However, I love it!
Sunday was the perfect Fall day, with crisp air and a mixt of sun and clouds. We went to the Children's Museum of Art downtown (where my daughter had a blast, it is basically a big craft space where the kids can "be artist" without making a mess in your apartment), then we strolled in the Greenwich Village.
I wore what has to be my favorite Fall jacket, an old Gap that is extremely well made and I got years ago for $20 (but it retailed for $100, which was quite expensive for the Gap at that time). I went into the Loft quickly to take these pics:
Under the jacket I was wearing a Calypso short-sleeved cashmere henley that a friend kindly gifted to me (I was so sad to have missed on this sweater, I waited too long to buy and one day it was gone so imagine my joy when she asked me if I wanted hers). It is the perfect ouatmeal color and also the perfect weigth to wear under a jacket. I love the belt and the fact that it is slightly longer than usual:
The boots in these pics are my loyal JCrew Glenbrae from 2010 (best flat boots ever and I regret not buying the heeled version as well).
OK, time to run to school, have a good one. I will be back with more dresses.

I adore the poncho, I bet it feels fantastic. I'd be tempted to wear it indoors! I've been looking for one, but the ones I'm seeing in stores are all too bulky and itchy. Is yours from Sundance? I saw a beautiful one in their catalog recently.
ReplyDeleteSue, the brand is Minnie Rose and I got it at Intermix. It is a "summer cashmere poncho", meaning that it isn't very thick but it is sooo soft (and warm, as I found out Saturday). I hadn't thought of wearing it at home, that's a good one!
ReplyDeleteI was just in NYC this past weekend, and spent most of Friday walking through Soho and Greenwich Village. Great outfits!!! Love the poncho over the horse print tunic, and I also love the Gap jacket and the cashmere henley. It's hard to find longer length, fitted sweaters these days - what a nice gift from your friend!
