OOTD (Beige and Dust Rose)

As many of you must be, I am so relieved that the 25% off promo has ended. Had it lasted a day or two more I would have done more damage, I think, but because the last day was a Sunday AND my husband used the computer all day AND I was home sick and I was incapacitated go to a store I had to content myself of my order of the Elements coat and the pearl schoolboy blazer.
On another note I can't believe that I missed on the Saks F&F event that applied also to Tory Burch and Tory Burch Revas in particular. I had planned to go to the store because the style that I wanted wasn't online (but had seen it in store recently) but again, busy week and sick during the weekend = no store. Oh well, there will be another sale.
The only advantage of being sick (besides the fact that my husband took care of my daughter and in particular took her on a birthday party on Saturday while I got to sleep and read blogs on my phone) was that my husband cooked for me and he cooked delicious crepes! He makes very good crepes but very, very rarely because he says that it takes too long and it is no fun for him. The best one was with cognac and sugar (not sure if it was a good medicine but it was yummy!)

I have a very busy week ahead so I have to get going (I am still a bit sick but will have to make with it). One of the things that I was tempted to order with the 25% off promo was the double-serge pencil skirt in viridian green or the new harvest one but then reason prevailed and summoned me to wear the pencil skirts that I already have before buying a new one (for each new item that you buy the chances to wear old items in your closet decrease).
So this morning I am wearing the wool pencil skirt from 2010 in the dust rose color. I really love this pencil skirt but for some reason I don't wear much my winter pencil skirts, with the exception of the Sunny from last year. I think that it is mainly because I don't wear heels in my everyday life and being petite I don't like them with flats. However, this morning it was very sunny (even if not particularly warm, as I found out later), so I wore it with my tumbled leather Revas and without stockings. The shirt is JoeFresh and it has been recently marked down from $49 to $19 (if you have no idea what JoeFresh is, see this post.) It is a very thin silk but hey, for $19 I will take it and it is in a TDF nude color (the third pic is the more true to reality in terms of color). I hadn't the time to steam it but I was going to wear it under a cardigan anyway, so not a big deal:

And guess what I wore over this outfit? Yes, the cowlneck poncho, that looks equally chic with jeans and pencil skirts (I promise, this is the last time that you are going to see it). I am tempted to go on a school tour with my poncho, but husband would probably disapprove:

I have to go now. As I said this is the busiest week ever for me, I hope to make through it. I won't probably have time to blog much, so apologies in advance if I disappear for an extended period of time (hope to be back by Halloween). Have a great one!

Did you shop the sales this weekend?

  1. LOL, I have the same Joe Fresh shirt, and I have been wearing it constantly. The colour is fantastic, and the price is incredible. Hope you are feeling better now and that your week goes well!!

  2. I have a nasty habit of deciding on something the day AFTER a promo ends. That's how the cashmere cable sweater landed in my cart today instead of yesterday...
    These soft colors are beautiful.

  3. You know what though? The poncho looks FABULOUS with your outfit!!!! Really pretty. In fact, I think you should post one more outfit, with the poncho. I love mine, and always like to see how people style it:)
    Hope you feel better....:)

  5. I think you look great in that poncho outfit! Would the schools really disapprove? Don't they know that you are European??

I thought I was going to be in major trouble last week and the week before, what with the 25% promo at J Crew, the Saks Friends & Family -- AND there was a 30% Nine West promo AND a Kate Spade promo too. Plus Boden is always running some promo. But SOMEHOW I only bit on the J Crew promo ONCE (and a small order too), and I got a pair of Revas at Saks, and that's it. I feel like the retailers call each other up and say to each other, Let's bankrupt our customers!! That's when I need a hurricane to pass by and cause a power outage.
